What is a rod trolling good under $ 80?
So I have like 75 dollars to spend on rod trolling (purchase of the coil later) because I want to get some serious fishing done this summer and have never had gear terrible for her. I want to be different this summer, and plan to fish off the coast of SC (may be a bridge or two too). What rod would you recommend? I was hoping a relatively compact with less than 7 guides, and a roll at the end. Love the rolls, and the resistance is that most of them when they are short. Help? Any suggestions for fishing are also popular, because I'm still a beginner. thank you very much. The rod you choose will be very dependend on the species you plan on targeting from different fish will weigh more than others requiring a heavier action rod. If you're on a limited budget, the cheapest rod you can find. Until you enter the upper end range of products you're looking at the quality difference is not really important. Ugly sticks are versatile, durable rods. Personally, I prefer Shimano and I think they deserve a visit. They have great customer service, too. I just f'd one of my reels that I bought from them and they sent me the replacement part with no questions asked. Ultimately, though, choose your species, then choose your poison. You will find that fishing with facilities that are relevant to the species you are targeting will make much more efficient. Good luck.
